“Evening of Smiles” for children with harelips

A picture auction, a biennial event, under the theme “Evening of Smiles”, will be held on September 13 at the Sofitel plaza hanoi to raise funds for free operations offered to Vietnamese children suffering from harelips.

This year’s auctioned pictures belong to painters Ton That Bang, Dao chau Hai, Tran Vu Hoang, Vo Ta Hung, Do Thu Huong, Pham Luc, Quach Phuong Dong, Nguyen Khac Phuc, 54 Traditions Gallery and so on.

The evening is expected to attract 250 guests.

The organisation, Operation Smile Vietnam hopes proceeds earned from the auctions and ticket sales will be enough to give 800 free operations.

On May 17 in Ho chi minh city there took place the same event. It obtained nearly US $100,000 for operations for about 1,000 children.
