Vietnam Scholarship and Culture Fund Kumho Asiana of the Republic of Korea awarded scholarships to 20 Vietnamese students who was selected to the final round of the Korean speaking contest held in Hanoi yesterday afternoon.
All these students will be provided tuition fee from now until they graduate. They will also be given a chance to go to the RoK for one week.
Six students winning highest prizes of the contest will be provided a three week Korean course in RoK.
This is the first Korean speaking contest held for Vietnamese students with the aim of popularising culture of Vietnam and RoK. The contest attracted the participation of students from various universities in Hanoi Ho chi minh city and Da nang They presented themes relating to the similarities and discrepancies in cultures of the two countries, co-operation in cinema, food and drink culture and also bilateral relation development in the future.
The Kumho Asiana Vietnam Scholarship and Culture Fund was founded in December 2007 and last March the fund has awarded four year tuition fee for 100 Vietnamese students.
